Where can you find the best free synthesizer plugins? /i am glad you asked because this list of free synthesizer plugins represents my favorite freeware synths. Each synth in this list has been tested and they are used. I found this collection of software synthesizers to be the best of the best of the many I have tested. They are not listed in any particular order.

Brzoza: is a two operator mono FM synthesizer. Each operator has three, fixed route, modulators. modulation amount is controlled by the modulator’s ADSR envelopes. A wide range of sounds and textures can be created from tight, soaring leads and deep basses to “bell” like sounds and evolving textures.

Sample Tank: is available in different versions that differ only by the number of sounds included. Each version is completely expandable. Sample Tank  free version  is a fully function version with an expandable library. It has an amazing piano.

Crio: is a virtual monophonic analog/FM/Ring Modulation synthesizer to make arpeggios, bass, solos, leads, FX-style sounds, to be used at studio or live. Minimal controls, maximum functionality.
