iZotope: is probably my favorite third-party plugin manufacturer. I have purchased a few of their products. I have been a customer of iZotope since Ozone 5 and I can say that their plugins are some of the best I have ever used. They make some plugins for free that are wonderful plugins. Here are some of them

Izotope’s Vinyl: Simulates the dust, scratches, warp, and mechanical noise reminiscent of yesteryear for FREE with Vinyl. Control each of Vinyl’s characteristics independently, introducing noise, saturation, warble, crackling, and more without introducing associated audio side effects. TOKYO DAWN LABS or TDK: are very high-quality audio processors. They are compatible with VST, Audio-Unit, and AAX audio plugin hosts. Some of their plugins include Nova, Molotok compressor, parallel dynamic equalizer, Slick E.Q. Proximity, Feedback Compressor, and Kotelnikov. For a modest price, you can by the gentleman’s version and unlock even more features. The free versions are very useful and very good.

Fresh Air: is based on vintage exciter circuits and advanced dynamics processing. This plugin is based on classic Dolby-A noise reduction modded exciters. GSat+ is derived from the saturation module on the TBProAudio CS5501V2 channel strip plug-in. It has several different saturation modes, high tweakability, oversampling, old-school VU meters and cross-platform software compatibility.

Chow Tape Model: is a digital emulation of a reel-to-reel analog tape machine. The original algorithm was developed to emulate the Sony TC-260, but has since been expanded to be able to model a wide variety of tape machines.
Chow Tape was originally developed as part of the Music 420 class at Stanford University. The project led to an academic paper, “Real-Time Physical Modelling for Analog Tape Machines which was presented at the 2019 DAFx Conference.

Blue Cat Audio: These free dynamic and mastering plugins are a very high-quality set of useful tools from Blue Cat Audio. Some great modulation effects, meters, and EQ’s are included. They come in a variety of formats.

Medal: This collection of over 30 plugins is so amazing it is hard to believe they are free. For a small fee, you can add a whole bunch of features to the already outstanding free versions of this set. However, these plugins are great just the way they are. Melda also has other plug-in sets available. These are great for mixing and mastering a project. If you have no tools in your toolbox start here! This is a must-have set for any DAW!

FreeG Fader and Meter is great for applying additional stage gaining at the end of an effects chain and it is also great to put into the main bus. The trim knob is great for stage gaining and the fine button allows you to make micro-adjustments to the fader. it’s a very useful plugin.
mvMeter2: is a multivariable meter including RMS, EBUR128, VU, and PPM measurement.

Voxengo: SPAN is a free real-time “fast Fourier transform” audio spectrum analyzer AAX, AU, and VST plugin for professional sound and music production applications. There are a lot of really great plugins in this collection of free plugins from Voxengo. They are available in both 32 and 64-bit versions. They work well and this set provides a lot of useful tools. SN02-G VU Meter: This is a no-frills mono/stereo/mid-side VU meter VST plug-in that can save you from headaches and potential VU metering analysis paralysis. It is a very accurate and useful plugin

IVGI: can deliver very soft and subtle saturation, that feels at home on the master buss. IVGI reacts dynamically to the input signal. Even the modeled fluctuations react dynamically and also change depending on the drive setting so that it doesn’t get in the way of the sound.

DC1A: looks like a one-trick pony. But don’t get fooled by the lack of additional controls. You may be surprised when you see how many different things this little thing works with. DC1A has a few tricks up its sleeve: negative (over) compression, parallel (New York style) compression, option to compress left and right channel independently (via the DUAL MONO switch), peak and RMS compression (RELAXED switch on) and DEEP activates a high pass filter to reduce pumping on bass heavy material.

CHANNEV: is the ultimate channel-strip with Mic Preamp, De-Esser, Line-Amp, 4 band equalizer, Compressor, Limiter and Tape Saturation!
Features include Simple trim screw on preamp section will set input level, Mic preamp with 60dB Virtual Gain, PAD, and Phase Invert. Code Red Free Preamp & EQ by Shattered Glass Audio: Code Red Free is inspired by a classic, all-tube, British console form the late 60s.
