Blue Cat Audio: These free plugins are a very high quality set of useful tools from Blue Cat Audio. Some great modulation effects, meters, and EQ’s are included. They come in a variety of formats.
Melda: This collection of 30 plugins are so amazing it is hard to believe they are free. For a small fee you can add a whole bunch of features to the already outstanding free versions of this set. However these plugins are great just the way they are. Melda also has other plug-in sets available. These are great for mixing and mastering a project. If you have no tools in your tool box start here! This is a must have set for any DAW!
Neutrino is a free spectral shaping plug-in based on iZotope’s new mixing technology featured in Neutron. I have been a customer of iZotope since Ozone 5 and I can say that their plugins are some of the best I have ever used. The Neutrino plugin is awesome. click the link below and check it out.
T-racks: These are world-class mastering plugins with many features. They are used in studios all over the world. Now you can have a few of their plugins for free. Introducing T-Racks Custom Shop. This is free software for the taking. You get the Classic Equalizer module, a 6-band parametric mastering EQ that’s part of the T-RackS Classic bundle, and you are also provided with the T-RackS Metering Suite, which contains a host of useful and detailed displays including Peak, Perceived Loudness, Phase, and RMS meters, plus a Spectrum analyzer with Peak, RMS and Averaging indicators. Both the EQ and meters can be instantiated as separate plugins in your DAW, or as part of the integrated T-RackS shell,
Voxengo: There are a lot of really great plugins in this collection of free plugins from Voxengo. They are available in both 32 and 64 bit versions. They work well and this set provides a lot of useful tools.
Digital Fish: As long as we are fishing for free plugins we might as well catch a compressor, a de-esser and an expander gate. These Plugins sound great. click below
Basslane: Set this next plugin directly into the effects bin of a bass track for a way to get the bass to sit in the mix. This can be useful if the bass is hard to hear in the mix.
Variety of sound: offers some great plugins. The person that makes these is a computer scientist and musician. He likes to designing DSP algorithms and plugin concepts. He does incredible work and he freely shares them with us. What a nice guy!
TOKYO DAWN LABS or TDK: are very high quality audio processors. They are compatible with VST, Audio-Unit, and AAX audio plugin hosts. Some of their plugins include, Slick E.Q. Proximity, Feedback Compressor, and Kotelnikov. For a modest price you can by the gentleman’s version and unlock even more features. The free versions are very useful and very good.
Reaper: has a reputation of being very good. This DAW application is popular and it is a low cost solution for those that want to record music. Now you can get the standard plugins that work inside Reaper for free.
Toned: is a specialized tone shaping plugin with analog modeling. It is designed primarily for use in the mastering process or on two-track audio busses. Toned uses two distinct equalization processes: a three-band tone-shaping matrix, and a specially designed high pass (HP) filter.
IVGI: can deliver very soft and subtle saturation, that feels at home on the master buss. IVGI reacts dynamically to the input signal. Even the modeled fluctuations react dynamically and also change depending on the drive setting, so that it doesn’t get in the way of the sound.
Code Red Free Preamp & EQ by Shattered Glass Audio: Code Red Free is inspired by a classic, all tube, British console form the late 60s. The original console was known for its EQ, bold and punchy character, and the warmth it imparted. The Beatles recorded most of their material using this, and other versions of this console.
sixtyfive: is a vintage-style, RMS Compressor, inspired by the dbx® 165A, a classic 1970’s compressor found in many studios, but it also adds a couple of new twists.
vladg/sound: This is a really good limiter. It also works as a multi-band limiter
A1StereoControl: allows you to expand or limit the STEREO WIDTH of your tracks using only one single knob. This powerful technique can be used on single tracks or groups tracks while mixing or even on a master bus in final mastering situations.
